OUR STORY · Sherkin Island - IRELAND
How some small fields became our fairy farm
The Fairy Farmers began with a little bit of land, a few very determined animals, and a shared feeling that life could be lived more slowly.

At first, there was no grand plan. There was simply a field that felt full of possibility, a house that needed care, and a family ready to learn by doing. One fence post, one muddy boot, one animal at a time: the farm began to find its shape.
The animals taught us the rhythm of the place. The sheep made us patient, the cattle made us brave, and the bees made us look closer. Every season offered a different lesson — some practical, some unexpected, and all of them worth carrying forward.
A farm is never finished. It grows with the people, creatures and small daily rituals that call it home.
Today, The Fairy Farmers is still a work in progress — and that is exactly how we like it. It is a place for animals, craft, wild corners and family stories, all rooted in the quiet joy of caring for what is right in front of us.
Every animal here has a name, a personality and a story. This website is a place to share those stories, document the farm as it develops and, occasionally, introduce animals looking for their next home.
The Fairy Farmers is very much a work in progress - and that’s part of the story.
